Conference Center
Named in honor of the previous owners and their families, the Defoort and Walkendon Buildings are the newest addition to the Pine Bungalows location. There are 23 rooms, each suitable for 2 guests, with full baths, mini fridge, coffee service, hair dryers and air conditioning. Staying in keeping with Pine Bungalow design the interior is knotty pine décor and each room has a balcony or patio. Enjoy a 5 minute walk to the Athabasca River with your morning coffee. On the main floor of the Walkendon building there is a spacious dining area with a self-catering kitchen, commercial grade appliances and all the necessary implements to create a culinary work of art!
The main-floor facility – the Lazy Bear Lounge – is a sitting area with lots of lounge seating and an old-fashioned upright piano! It can host a maximum of 60 people and is wheel chair friendly. An elevator is in place to move people from floor to floor. Below the Lazy Bear Lounge is a conference facility and meeting space that can be partitioned into two separate rooms or left as one large room with a capacity of 60 people. A full wet bar and sound system is also part of the lower level.
